  • What is the teacher to student ratio at our school?
    The ratio depends on the age. From 1:4 for infants, it goes up to 1:12 for 5-6 year old kids.
  • Can parents meet the teachers before enrolling?
    Absolutely. During the orientation and walk-through at the school, parents will have plenty of time and opportunity to meet the teachers.
  • Will parents get a daily log of their child’s activity at the school?
    Yes. Our goal is to have constant communication between teachers and parents about their child and his/her activities/progress at school.
  • Are extra-curricular activities offered to all age-groups?
    Most extra-curricular activities start when a child turns 2. This is when they are able to take instructions from other instructors. However, the Montessori curriculum and teaching methods build their sensorial, motor and language skills from the very beginning.
  • How much time will a child spend outside?
    All children will spend at least 30 minutes in the outside play area, or in the inside gym if the weather doesn’t permit outside activity.
  • How long will a child spend reading?
    Montessori curriculum and teaching methods build their language skills from the very beginning in the classroom. Additionally, when they are ready, they will spend 20-30 minutes in the library.
  • Will there be video cameras that would allow parents to watch their children live?
    We are getting the video camera systems designed and installed. We will surely provide details about them as soon as they are available.
  • Are snacks and meals included in the monthly tuition price?
    The monthly tuition includes breakfast and all snacks but not the lunch meals. Please see details of the lunch program for different options and pricing of lunch meals.
  • Will you provide a nut-free environment if a child has nut allergies?
    Absolutely. To avoid any allergic reactions to any child, we will not serve nuts as part of lunch or snacks. If you send lunch or snacks from home, please ensure to NOT include any nuts even if your child has no nut allergies.
  • Will additional activities such as gymnastics and ballet be included in monthly tuition price, or are there additional costs?
    Physical education (PE), general music and basic Spanish classes are included in the monthly tuition. Karate, ballet, piano, basketball, tennis, soccer, art, cooking, and yoga for kids are not included. We are working out the details with vendors at this time and will advise you of the additional costs. Each activity is expected to be in the range of $50-100 per month.
  • What will children do during summer at Telfair Montessori?
    We will have exciting summer camps and programs for children of all ages. Details and pricing for summer programs will be provided later in the school year, and will include several extra-curricular and fun activities.
